In current world, commerce is a widely popular and growing industry. Retailing is a part of commerce. According to the Institute for Competitiveness & Prosperity report, Canadian retailers are best in this business but they are a step behind to the U.S. and other overseas counterparts.
Canadian retailers are well managed only on their home market but multinational retailers like Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. are well managed in international market too. The Institute for Competitiveness & Prosperity surveyed more than 660 senior managers in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom last summer and finally, they found that Canadian managers are poor in very section.
‘The University of Toronto’s Institute for Competitiveness and Prosperity’ told Canadian retailers to go global for better management. They also told that Canada is not achieving its full prosperity potential and this gap could be filled only by broaden its approach to innovation.
These analysis raised voice to improve managerial education system of Canada. According to Roger Martin, dean of the university’s Rotman School of Management, there is a virtuous circle at work and it needs effective management to expand. These expanding firms attract more number of better managers.
